Registration FAQ
Fees,
payment, currencies, receipts, cedit cards, bank transfers, refunds, changes
in what you registered for, etc.
- Is there a
way to get a breakdown showing what I registered for and the fee I
paid for each item?
- Yes, there is. If you are paying with a credit
card, before you are asked to supply the credit card information,
you will see a screen showing an item-by-item breakdown and the fee
for each item in $US and in $CDN. It will look like this.
Above the breakdown in red letters it will say ###
Please print this page for your records. ###. That screen is
the only place where you will see an item-by-item breakdown of everything
you registered and paid for. Please
print that page.
- I paid $70
for conference fees and $55 for the banquet and my total was $125.
I was charged $131.75. Why the difference? What is this about?
- We are in Canada and we use a Canadian university's
web payment system and a Canadian bank and thus Canadian currency
for all INSNA credit card transactions. The exchange rate at the time
of your transaction was $1 US = $1.054 CDN. Your transaction amount
of $125 US converted as follows: $125 US x 1.054 = $131.75 CDN. Your
bank should convert this to $US when it processes the transaction.
Because the conversion rate fluctuates, the final amount may vary
from $125 by a few cents. The conversion rate
when you register will probably not be the same as the one used in
this example.
- I need a receipt
that shows how much I paid and what I paid for. How can I get one?
- A receipt showing how much you paid in $CDN
is automatically sent to the emil address you used on the registration
form. It looks like this.
Please print your receipt and keep it in a safe place. To see an item-by-item
breakdown showing the fee for each item in both $US and $CDN, please
read the answer to question #1 above.
- I do not
have a credit card and my university will not issue a cheque. Will
you please send me the information so I can pay by a bank transfer?
- We're sorry to say that we do not accept payment
by bank transfers. Please find a friend who has a credit card and
ask them to pay for you. Of course you will reimburse your friend.
To show even more of your gratitude, make dinner for your friend and
make sure you have a good bottle of wine to share.
- Is
the conference's registration fee refundable if the paper is not accepted
later or visa application is not successful?
- If you register for the
Sunbelt conference and submit a paper that is not accepted or you
are unable to obtain a visa you need to attend the conference, we
will issue a refund for the conference registration fees if you let
us know at least a few weeks before the conference begins.
- I
already registered, but I want to make some changes to the workshops
part of the conference -- add some workshops, change the ones I'm
in, or delete some workshops. How do I do that?
It's easy. Just go through the registration process
again as if it was your first time. You will see a page that looks
like this (only bigger), showing what you have already registered
for:
Click on the check marks for things that you
want to remove and click on the little squares or buttons for things
you want to add. If you paid by credit card and the cost will be less
than what you have already paid, you will receive a refund to your
credit card. If the cost will be higher, you will have to go through
the credit card information page. If you paid by cheque or bank draft,
everything is more complicated because your original registration
isn't completed until we receive your cheque and we can't issue refunds
the way we can with credit cards; you will have to settle up with
us at the conference.
