Call for Applications: NETHIKE 2022
The Social Networks Lab at ETH Zürich proudly presents NETHIKE 2022, the first edition of a summer school on methods in social network research. The school is characterized by its systematic approach and ample opportunity for discussion while hiking in the Bergell mountains. It takes place from 25-30 September 2022 at the beautiful Villa Garbald in Castasegna, in the South of Switzerland. We are excited that the initial keynote speaker will be Prof. Tom Snijders, University of Groningen.
The program of the summer school covers basic and advanced topics in the analysis, modeling, and visualization of networks in the context of sociological theory and empirical research. By the end of the week, participants are able to plan a social network research project, describe data, interpret network statistics, and test hypotheses on network data. They will be aware of the most important developments in the field and know how to dive into the topics most relevant for their research project. The teaching style involves a combination of lectures, practical exercises, group projects, and discussions.
We invite applications by doctoral students, postdocs, and other researchers who want to strengthen their knowledge in research methods for social networks. Up to 16 people can attend. To apply, please send a motivation letter (stating your research background, research interests, reasons to learn about network methods on one A4 page) and a short CV to firstname.lastname@example.org (by 25 April 2022).
