Event Details

As you may know, this year's International Sunbelt Social Network Conference is Cairns, Australia!

The conference is going to be hybrid: in person and online.

As described by the organizers, Cairns is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and 180 million-year-old Daintree Rainforest, the oldest rainforest in the world.

The special theme of the conference is: “Social Networks, Disaster Recovery and Environmental Governance in the Face of Climate Change”. This special theme will have a dedicated day of regular presentations that fit within the theme and will also include a special plenary and a panel discussion.

Here is the conference website:
FYI -- David Tindall, Mark Stoddart, and John McLevey are organizing sessions on "Social Networks and Climate Change".

We welcome paper proposals (in the form of a title and abstract) for papers on theoretical, methodological, and substantive topics related to this theme, including organizational networks, virtual networks, discourse networks, and personal networks. Topics may include (but are not limited to) social movements, values and attitudes, community resilience, policy networks, climate change denial networks, political economic networks.

John McLevey and I are tentatively planning to be there in person.

The deadline is coming up – the extended deadline is February 20th, 2022.

You must submit your proposal to the Conference website.
