Event Details

The MelNet Team (Swinburne node) invite you to participate in an online SNA course, "Introduction to Social Network Analysis". In this course you will learn how to conduct social network research, moving from the fundamentals of networks to an introduction to cutting-edge statistical network models (e.g., ERGMs).

The course will be conducted via a series of 12 workshops online (over a 6-week period), starting from 12 July 2021,  with live virtual lectures and working groups.  Each week consists of two 3-hour virtual workshops on Mondays and Wednesdays starting 9:30am and finishing at 12:30pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time: Melbourne, Australia).  In each workshop, we will introduce topics to you, then apply that knowledge straight away through applied social network exercises (see detailed workshop schedule on the Eventbrite link below).  We will provide you with, introduce you to and guide you through the use of social network software.
A general knowledge of statistics is assumed (e.g., correlation, logistic regression). You will require your own PC laptop (or Mac with Windows installed – Mac OS is not supported). Software will be provided.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch. We hope you can join us for this SNA course.
