Call: INSEAD Conference on Network Evolution 8.0
INSEAD Conference on Network Evolution 8.0
November 17/18, 2023 in Fontainebleau
CALL FOR PAPERS
The INSEAD Network Evolution Conference (NEC) will be held on November 17/18, 2023, in Fontainebleau. We are thrilled to be able to run this conference again in person, with real (as opposed to Zoom-based) French wine and cheese.
As before, this will be a two-day event where we will provide a forum for researchers interested in organizational networks.
We are looking for submissions that that examine social graphs on the level of organizations or individuals. The following is a sampling of potential topics to discuss, but the submissions can clearly go beyond them:
- What are the new and under-researched drivers of network dynamics?
- What are the network outcomes for individuals or organizations?
- What can organizational networks research learn from other disciplines?
- How do network positions and outcomes change when one takes into account the phenomenon of network multiplexity?
- What are the new areas of graph theory’s application that go beyond inter-personal and inter-organizational networks (e.g. for mapping interdependencies among technologies)?
We especially like to see papers use clear identification strategies (natural experiments, DiDs, randomized field experiments, etc.) to tease out causal effects of interest to network researchers. We remain open to correlational studies as well.
We expect this to be a small conference (around 30 papers + keynotes) so that the participants can receive quality feedback.
Tentatively confirmed participants:
Gautam Ahuja, Ron Burt, Tiziana Casciaro, Charlie Galunic, Ranjay Gulati, Michael Jensen, Adam Kleinbaum, Ajay Mehra, Martin Kilduff, Marissa King, Ray Reagans, Michelle Rogan, Sameer Srivastava, Giuseppe Soda, Maxim Sytch, Aks Zaheer
Please consider submitting a full paper to shipilov@insead.edu by May 30, 2023.
There is no attendance fee, but the participants should cover their own transportation and lodging in Fontainebleau.
