2026 Political Networks (Section 41) Conference

The 19th Annual Political Networks Conference 2026 is now open for paper and poster submissions.

   
Following the 2025 conference at Harvard/Northeastern, the 2026 conference will take place in Europe for the first time, bringing together scholars from North America, Europe, and the UK working on political networks.
    
Proposals are invited for papers or posters that engage in rigorous theoretical and empirical research on political networks. Contributions that develop network methods, statistical models, or computational approaches for network analysis are also welcome. Submissions are encouraged from scholars in political science, sociology, economics, psychology, business, statistics, computer science, physics, network science, complex systems, and related disciplines.
     
Key dates:
Submission deadline: 12 April 2026 (11:59pm GMT)
- Notifications and registration open: early May 2026
- Training workshops: 4–5 August 2026

Opportunities:
- APSA Travel Grants are available for eligible applicants from North America.
- Thanks to support from the Hallsworth Conference Fund, we will offer subsidised registration rates.
- Selected papers will be invited for submission to a special issue of Network Science.
- Editors of target journals will participate in the conference.
- As in previous years, the conference provides an excellent opportunity for early-career researchers to connect with senior scholars, and will include eight training workshops prior to the conference.
